This straight stair lift was installed in a multi-generational household so that nana and grandpa can easily get up and down the stairs. One thing that we are often asked is how we manage the cords, or if there are any? Stair lifts operate off of standard 110v power outlets, but then they also have back-up batteries to ensure operation in the event of a power outage. The outlets must be within 10 ft. of either the top or bottom stair. We use rigid plastic tubing that mimics the look of narrow wall trim so that the electric cord is hidden, and doesn't become a tripping hazard. The tubing blends with the wall trim for a seamless, and aesthetically pleasing finish!
