  2. Familiarize yourself with all aspects of scooter ownership
    1. Charging and maintaining battery health
    2. Understanding controls, brakes, lights, fuse locations and reset switch location
    3. Assembling and disassembling your scooter

    4. Use Metro transportation services when you are not familiar with the character of your destination geography and culture
    5. Dress appropriately for weather conditions
    6. Bring water

    1. Travel only safe routes you are familiar with
    2. Be especially cautious in parking lots
    3. Be alert to the route surface changes (Curbs stairways and sidewalks)
    4. Be aware of the personal hazard you can face in the wrong neighborhood
    5. Be sure to drive only in areas where emergency assistance can reach you

    1. Automobiles are king because of their size
    2. When available cross streets only at controlled pedestrian crossing
    3. Make sure you have automobile operators' full attention
    4. Realize that your "right-of way" is a legal term only enforced by law
    5. Bring your scooter to a complete stop when encountering walkers, cyclists and animals in order to allow safe passage of all
    6. Always be alert to your surroundings (do not daydream, use mobile phone) or become distracted in any way
