Mobility Plus Tucson to use the funds to improve digital transformation
Tucson, AZ – November 1, 2022 – Mobility Plus Tucson today announced that it has been selected for a Synchrony Pillars Project grant. Launched in 2016, Synchrony’s small business grant program has honored entrepreneurial retail owners and health and wellness providers who have risen above in times of change. As a Pillars Project grant recipient, Mobility Plus Tucson received $10,000 and consulting services for digitally transforming their business.
Mobility Plus Tucson was one of 21 winners for the 2022 grants, selected from a highly competitive pool of more than 500 applicants across the United States who applied for a grant. Like most small businesses today, Mobility Plus Tucson faces multi-layered challenges, including supply chain chaos, inflation, and continued impacts from the pandemic. That is why Synchrony expanded its Pillars Project to focus on digital transformation this year, which became an imperative for business to survive over the past few years. A recent survey found that small businesses ahead in digital transformation saw eight times the revenue growth of small businesses in the earliest stages of their digital efforts.
“It’s an honor to accept the Synchrony Pillars Project grant on behalf of our dedicated and hard-working team,” said Gary Ross, Owner, Mobility Plus Tucson. “We plan to use the grant to improve access to durable medical equipment and consulting (by having iPad terminals in our showrooms) and improving post service follow-up with automated communication campaigns.
The Pillars Project Grant was open to both current and prospective partners of Synchrony and CareCredit, a Synchrony Solution, with 30 or fewer employees. This year’s application focused on both the vision and transformation of the business – how the business adopted digital tools and processes to adapt to changing needs, how the business adopted digital tools and processes to adapt to changing needs. The small business winners represent a wide range of industries, including retail (e.g., automotive, bicycle, furniture, flooring, HVAC, jewelry, powersports, and sewing) and health and wellness (e.g., audiology, chiropractic, dentistry, massage therapy, and physicians).
“Supporting small businesses with grants is a foundational component to Synchrony’s commitment to help partners grow,” said Kelly Aravena, VP Synchrony Connect. “With the aid of these funds and our experts giving time and talent, small businesses can continue their digital transformation journey by leveraging data, highlighting insights, and growing their businesses.”
By the end of 2022, Synchrony will have made similar Pillars Project grants to more than 80 small businesses and providers across the United States chosen from more than 4,500 applications, with nearly 100 of Synchrony’s top experts delivering pro bono services and grants valued at more than $850,000.
Mobility Plus Tucson started in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was an especially challenging time to keep a brick-and-mortar business open to the public, let alone start a brick-and-mortar business. We immediately applied for our DME license, allowing us to be officially recognized as an essential business for our community. With our DME license, we have been able to stay open and provide critical services to our community.
Our community consistently recognizes us for the safety, freedom, and independence that our services provide. In addition to sales, we greatly assist our community by providing: Rentals- Many of our clients have short-term needs. Having a rental fleet helps our community immensely. It is sometimes cost prohibitive for our clients to purchase the equipment that they need to safely ambulate, especially when their diagnosis is acute. Our rentals allow our clients to be discharged from the hospital and continue their recovery at home; allow visiting loved ones to have the mobility equipment that they need to ensure a safe visit; and allow clients to try equipment before they buy, helping to ensure the right product is purchased for longer-term use.
Service & Repair- Our client's medical mobility devices are their means of carrying out their daily essential functions of living. When a scooter breaks down, we have emergency field and in-home service & repair to help get our clients back in motion and safely living their life. Installation- Our trained service technicians identify fall hazards within the home and install upwards of sixteen grab bars per day in our client's bathrooms, greatly minimizing falls and hospitalizations. Whether it's a stair lift, a vertical platform lift, or a grab bar; our technicians are trained to keep you in the home you love - SAFELY.
