The PATHWAY 3G Modular Access System is a durable, customizable aluminum ramp system designed for safety, accessibility, and long-term use. It offers versatile configurations to fit nearly any home, with a slip-resistant surface and modular components that blend functionality with style.
Project Overview:
This project involved installing a garage-access ramp system for a daughter whose mother lives with her and needed a safer, easier way to enter and exit their home. Due to HOA restrictions and a desire to maintain the front yard’s aesthetics, the family opted for a discreet and functional ramp setup inside the garage.
The ramp provides the mother with greater independence and the daughter with peace of mind, knowing her mother can move safely and comfortably without needing constant assistance.
Customer Story & Needs:
The daughter reached out to us looking for a safe ramp solution for her mother, who has limited mobility. Because of HOA regulations, installing a ramp in the front yard wasn’t possible. Additionally, the daughter wanted to maintain the visual appeal of their front entrance. After evaluating the home, our team and the customer agreed that the garage was the most practical and discreet location for the installation.
Hurdles:
The garage setup presented a few challenges — the space between the garage door sensors and the entry door was just over four feet, and there was a large storage closet with a secondary refrigerator along the wall where the ramp needed to run. To maintain access to the closet, the customer requested that the ramp be installed as close to the wall as possible and that no handrails be installed on that side.
Installation Process:
After conducting an on-site assessment, we designed a layout that included a low-profile 4ft x 4ft platform at the entry door and a 16ft ramp run along the interior wall. This configuration provided both safety and functionality without restricting access to storage areas. Once the customer confirmed her decision, we scheduled and completed the installation within a week of the evaluation and just two days after confirmation.
Project Timeline:
Evaluation to Installation: 1 week
Scheduling after Confirmation: 2 days
Installation Duration: Completed same day
Final Outcome:
The finished garage ramp blends seamlessly into the space, providing safe, smooth access for the mother while preserving the front yard's appearance and overall home aesthetics. Both the daughter and her mother are thrilled with how the ramp fits their daily routine — practical, discreet, and built to last.
