The Atlas Mini Vista Vertical Platform Lift is a compact, reliable solution that provides safe and smooth vertical transportation for individuals with mobility challenges. Its space-saving design, durable construction, and user-friendly controls make it ideal for residential settings.

We installed an Atlas Mini Vista Vertical Platform Lift (VPL) to provide a safe, dependable entryway solution for a customer whose wife needed secure access into their home through the garage. The compact lift offered the perfect balance of safety, convenience, and space efficiency something a standard ramp could not achieve within their garage layout.

Project Overview

This project included an in-depth home assessment, customized platform lift design, approval drawing revisions, and the installation of a Mini Vista VPL paired with a small custom-built deck. The goal was to create a safe, accessible pathway from the garage entry door while preserving valuable garage space for daily use.

Customer Story & Needs

The customer contacted us because his wife was having increasing difficulty entering and exiting their home safely from the garage. He was concerned about her stability and wanted a solution that would allow her to move independently and confidently.

A traditional ramptypically the first option for a 22.5-inch rise was not practical. A ramp of that height would require more than 20 feet of length, which would consume most of the garage and prevent the homeowner from parking or storing items. Maintaining garage functionality was essential, but safety was the priority.

After reviewing his situation, it became clear that the Mini Vista VPL was the ideal solution: compact, strong, reliable, and capable of fitting neatly into the available space without compromising garage use.

Hurdles

The primary challenge was the tight space. With a 22.5-inch rise, a ramp was not feasible. Additional considerations included:

Safety, ease of use, and preserving the garage's utility were at the forefront of the design.

Design & Approval Process

We assessed the home on October 8th and provided a detailed quote shortly after. About a week later, the customer contacted us to move forward.

Each step was performed with precision to ensure the installation fit the garage layout without sacrificing functionality.

Final Outcome

The customer and his wife were extremely pleased with the results. The Mini Vista VPL provided:

What first felt like a challenging situation became a smooth, efficient upgrade that made a meaningful difference in their daily comfort, safety, and independence.
