We installed an Atlas Mini Vista Vertical Platform Lift (VPL) to provide a safe, dependable entryway solution for a customer whose wife needed secure access into their home through the garage. The compact lift offered the perfect balance of safety, convenience, and space efficiency something a standard ramp could not achieve within their garage layout.
Project Overview
This project included an in-depth home assessment, customized platform lift design, approval drawing revisions, and the installation of a Mini Vista VPL paired with a small custom-built deck. The goal was to create a safe, accessible pathway from the garage entry door while preserving valuable garage space for daily use.

The customer contacted us because his wife was having increasing difficulty entering and exiting their home safely from the garage. He was concerned about her stability and wanted a solution that would allow her to move independently and confidently.
A traditional ramptypically the first option for a 22.5-inch rise was not practical. A ramp of that height would require more than 20 feet of length, which would consume most of the garage and prevent the homeowner from parking or storing items. Hurdles

Design & Approval Process
We assessed the home on October 8th and provided a detailed quote shortly after. About a week later, the customer contacted us to move forward.
From there:
- We created the initial VPL approval drawings
- Scheduled a review meeting so the customer could look over the design
- Made requested revisions during the meeting
- Sent the updated drawings the same day
- Received his signed approval confirming the design was correct
- Once approved, the customer submitted a 50% deposit, and we immediately processed the order.

Installation Process
Once the equipment arrived, our technicians:
- Removed the existing garage staircase
- Built a small custom deck to create a smooth transition from the entry door to the lift
- Installed and leveled the Mini Vista VPL
- Completed all mechanical, electrical, and safety checks
- Walked the customer and his wife through using the lift confidently and safely
