This project was especially meaningful for our team. We partnered closely with two daughters who shared a clear priority—ensuring their father had a safe, dependable way to enter and exit his home as he begins spending more time living independently.

While their father is aging well and remains mobile, navigating the stairs into the home has become increasingly difficult. Wanting to be proactive and choose the best long-term solution, the family carefully explored several lift options, comparing configurations with and without platform and landing gates. Along with safety and ease of use, build time and shipping lead time played a major role in their decision-making process.

After reviewing all factors, the family selected the Harmar Highlander 2 Vertical Platform Lift, equipped with both a platform gate and a landing gate to provide added safety, stability, and peace of mind.

To ensure a smooth and secure transition into the home, we also installed a 5’ x 4’ EZ-ACCESS® aluminum platform at the entry door, allowing the lift to align seamlessly with the home’s entrance.

The end result was more than just improved accessibility—it was reassurance. The daughters were relieved knowing their father now has a safe, reliable, and future-ready way to access his home, and the family was extremely pleased with both the function and overall appearance of the installation.
